Bullying and Morbid Jealousy Treatments in Aylesbury, Amersham, Milton Keynes and Buckinghamshire

Morbid jealousy or Delusional jealousy is a condition in which an individual holds a strong belief that their sexual partner or spouse is being unfaithful without having any proof to back up their accusation. This disorder appears when an individual usually makes frequent claims that their partner is being unfaithful, based on minimal, or no evidence, often referring to normal events or data to back up their claims.

There can be many psychological origins that go along with morbid jealousy. For morbid or delusional jealousy to appear person’s memories are subconsciously altered and their partner’s actions are misunderstood as well to the degree that the individual is completely convinced of betrayal from the partner.

Morbid jealousy can to be associated with four features:

  • An underlying psychological disorder arises before or with the jealousy
  • The structures of the fundamental mental disorder coexist with the jealousy
  • The development of morbid jealousy directly relates to that of the underlying psychological disorder
  • The morbid jealousy has no foundation in reality

Individuals who are very insecure or even anxious are more likely to become jealous and doubt their partner’s commitment to them. Insecure attachment style relates to morbid jealousy.

For men the most powerful trigger is sexual infidelity and with women the greatest trigger is emotional infidelity.

Fortunately, there are delusional jealousy or morbid jealousy treatment options for a client who has been diagnosed with morbid or delusional jealousy. The first step is to consult a psychotherapist to establish whether the disorder is isolated or part of another existing condition. Morbid jealousy or delusional jealousy can be treated with the right combination of therapies. I devise unique and personalised treatment plan for each client.
