Low Self-Esteem Treatment Plan in Aylesbury, Milton Keynes, Amersham and Buckinghamshire

Do you feel you're not as good as other people?

To improve your self-worth and increase self-esteem, you need to believe in an alternative opinion of yourself through experience, not just by repeating affirmations about how great you are!

People who were treated badly as children are more likely to suffer with low self-esteem.  Constant criticism, abuse or being unfavorably compared to others “brain washed” them into thinking that they are worthless and not important. When a person starts to examine this former conditioning then a better and more accurate sense of self can start to develop.

Self-esteem is a term used in counselling, psychotherapy and hypnotherapy to indicate a client's general emotional assessment of his or her own worth. It is a view of oneself as well as an attitude toward the self. Self-esteem includes beliefs (for example, "I am lovable," "I am good enough") and emotions such as success, hopelessness, happiness and embarrassment. Selfesteem, is the negative or positive assessments of the self, as in how we feel about it. Self-esteem is also known as the evaluative aspect of the self that contains feelings of self-worth, self-respect and discouragement.
